Information about sealing material:
Aramid:
is a composite material, known as Kevlar, a high temperature-stable aromatic Polyamid-fibre. These fibre don't melt, it is resistant against acids and organic solvents. Through admix of softeners (e.g. rubber) the fibre stuck together and can be use as seals.
This mixture loses its softeners from 150 °C and becomes fragile. The function as a seal is still given until 400 °C. After this thermal treatment, the seal cannot be used a second time, they are too brittle.
Aramid graphitize:
Aramid seal with graphite. By the treatment with graphite, the evaporation of the softeners is clearly delayed and the seal consequently reach a longer temperature-stability.

Nyhalit:
Material: FPM (Nitrile Butadiene Rubber) soft seal, media resistance, has a high degree of elasticity and resilience potential, can use up to 250 °C, if use between 250 and 300 °C it becomes fragile.
Teflon:
Material: Polytetrafluorethene, rather harder seal, thermally stable up to 250 °C, becomes very soft from 200 °C, however and cannot use in temperatures higher as 200 °C as a safe seal.
Silicone:
Material: Poly(organo)siloxanes, has a high degree of elasticity and resilience potential, soft seal, can use maximum up to 200 °C.
Viton:
Material: FPM (fluoro rubber elastomer), soft seal, media resistance, has a high degree of elasticity and resilience potential, aging resistance, can use from -20 to +200 °C.
